Ariel Miller is a blogger and freelance nonprofit writer. Most recently, Miller wrote the 2019 annual report for StrongMinds, a nonprofit organization that provides group therapy for depressed women in sub-Saharan Africa. This report reflects Miller’s passion for accessible mental health, a cause close to her heart. Miller’s commitment to mental health advocacy is also evident in her digital media work.
A large portion of Miller’s nonprofit work is for organizations that help people with learning disabilities. Last year, Miller authored a research proposal that explored behavioral treatments to support adolescents with a nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD) and social and emotional difficulties. She plans to continue this research, aiming for publication in the Journal of Learning Disabilities.
In 2016, Miller published a powerful article on deception in online dating. This piece inspired her Masters thesis project, which focused on understanding successful online relationships in the COVID-19 era.
Miller holds a BA in English and communications from Pace University and a MS in Professional Writing from New York University’s School of Professional Studies.
